Cats at the Pat Brody Shelter looking for a home. |
We are an organization devoted to helping animals, specifically cats and the people who run shelters for cats.
There are many stray and abandoned cats across the country. Shelters provide a very necessary service. They take in these cats, care for them, and adopt them out to good homes.
Without the shelter system these animals would suffer horribly from disease and eventual death from starvation. The cats that don't starve have kittens that starve. The kittens that don't starve grow and have more kittens . It is a viscious cycle. Shelters step in to break this cycle by taking in unwanted cats and removing abandoned cats from the wild.
Costs for housing, feeding, and medical care have risen tremendously. If you have taken a pet to the vet lately, you know what I mean. Because these shelters are run by volunteers and have shoestrings for budgets
